Fall Netting
When do you net ponds for the fall?
We complete fall nettings from mid-September thru early October.
Does the net stay on all winter?
Nets should be removed prior to the snowfall to avoid the risk of cave-ins that may lead to fish suffocation and other water garden damage. We offer a netting removal and disposal service which is completed around Thanksgiving.
Can you net my pond at the same time as the winterization?
Due to the time constraints we face when winterizing water gardens, we are unable to provide netting or additional services at the time of winterization. By the time your pond is winterized, leaves are usually already falling and the effectiveness of the netting would consequently be limited if not installed prior. Please make a separate netting appointment with us if you are interested in this service.
Do you clean the leaves off the net through the fall?
Unless previously arranged, the pond owner is responsible for cleaning the leaves off on a weekly basis or as is needed.
How is the net supported to keep it from falling into the pond?
We install all nets in a ‘tent’ fashion which prevents significant leaf accumulation on the net. For larger ponds, a center support pole is commonly used as an extra support measure.
